As I embark upon reviewing this, the latest novel in John Scalzi's Old Man's War series, I must admit that I am feeling somewhat guilty. Hugo Award finalist (and now winner!) and John W. €�published 2008 –336 pages, Tor Books –4.5/5 stars. Yes, I'm skipping the middle two books. Suffice it to say that both The Ghost Brigades (A Sci Fi Essential Book) and The Last Colony are excellent books, and necessary to understanding Zoe's Tale . Campbell Award recipient John Scalzi brings readers something new and different this month with Zoe's Tale. One was to tell Zoe's story as it ran parallel to the events in The Last Colony, and the other was to do his first YA novel. Zoe's Tale is written as a young-adult novel with a first-person teenage protagonist, but unlike a lot of young-adult novels, I loved the narrator. I'm Zoe Boutin Perry: A colonist stranded on a deadly pioneer world. I ask because it's what I have to do.
